About Me

ABOUT ME – from dreams to reality

The greatest compliment — and one of the proudest moments of my life — was when my sister and her friend had an argument over that borrowed (!) multilayered, ruffled black skirt I had sewn for myself back in my teenage years. Needless to say, I haven’t seen it since.
A few years later, images of the bags I imagined kept circling around me like hallucinated lemons after a poorly stuck stamp (don’t worry, the comparison isn’t from personal experience). I’ve never been much of a runner — neither physically nor from challenges — so I got to work, and eslo took shape… as a bag.

I love wood. I probably inherited that from my dad, since he works with it. Wood has been part of my everyday life since childhood, so it was never a question what would make my bags truly innovative and unique.
I wanted to keep the soft drape and flexibility of textiles but definitely include wood in some way.
Wooden handles have been used for a long time — nothing new there.
However, the custom-designed wooden handle, the wooden logo tag, various wooden decorative elements, and the wooden pull-tab tag (…) together create a kind of structure, unity, and identity within my brand that is unique, iconic — and truly ESLO itself, the signature of my brand.

Now, my dad and I form a collaboration: an idea pops into my head, he gently tosses it back saying, “That can’t be done!” — and then casually makes it exactly the way I imagined.
My products evolve together with me; I create small-series pieces, and no two bags are ever the same.
Jute, linen, cotton, leather, and of course wood: teak, walnut, beech, oak, elm, Japanese pagoda tree...

All of them feature special, custom-designed wooden accessories — each one hand-crafted by my dad (/colleague).

Simple, clean, bold, yet playful pieces — just like me. True bohemian chic.

BALATON – born into tranquility

I’m very lucky, because I grew up next to Lake Balaton.
As soon as beach weather arrived, my siblings and cousins would already be blowing up the air mattresses and swim rings, and before Grandma, Dad, or Mom could even process what was happening, we were ready to run across fields and ditches just to finally splash into the water.
But the threatening voice always caught up with us before they did, so sulking, hand in hand, we matched their slow pace — though once we reached the lake, it made up for all our restraint.

Not so long ago, during the summers, alongside Eslo, I sold popcorn at the beach in Zamárdi from a tricycle built by my grandpa — because a real beach experience just wouldn’t be complete without the roaming vendors: cotton candy, boiled corn, chimney cake, popcorn… so today’s kids can feel at least as much joy as we did back then.

ESzter LOvretics – ESLO

In the morning, I always put my right sock on first. I eat bread with pasta, I’m a little afraid of cats, and I love fruit — except for figs. I imagine that aliens exist. When I was ten, I founded the Little Witch Council, but only my imaginary goblins joined.
I’m obsessed with sewing, creativity, and challenges — and I also love baking.

Putting jokes aside...

Actually, it’s not even a joke — it’s all true.
But now I should be making an offering on the sacred altar of SEO, saying something like: Hungarian designer women’s handbags by a local designer. Soft fabric and leather, spiced up with the strength and character of wood, creating the perfect balance.

Perfectly unique, special wooden handles and wooden decorative elements, all handcrafted by my dad (and colleague) in his workshop. A distinctive wooden identity that has now become Eslo’s official signature.

A bag you can truly take care of — one that adds a touch of bohemian chic to your everyday life. Whether you’re running to the dentist, picking up your kid, heading to an exam, or suddenly growing four arms because you just have to — when puddles splash in the rain, or on a beautiful Saturday afternoon filled with big and small encounters, in moments of frustration or pure joy...
It’s a little companion to hold on to, something you cherish, walking beside you through the 9 854 739 965 436 8654... days of your life.

Alongside women’s handbags, I also create jewelry and other small accessories made from our leftover wood and fabric — in the spirit of waste reduction.
And soon, it will finally be time for ESLO Home to be born.
Many ideas are already on paper and half-finished — just a little more patience, and they’re coming! :)

PACKAGING – you’ll remember the moment you open it

It always makes me so happy to read how much you praise the packaging along with your bags.
It’s a simple, plain, natural box — no unnecessary text or stickers — that you can easily reuse later to store little treasures, documents, or anything else. It also makes excellent kindling.
A bit of tissue paper, and a small touch of kindness.

SUSTAINABILITY – nothing holds greater value than nature’s gifts

Alongside the permanent pieces, I also design small-series collections.
In my workshop, I create these bags from rare, special fabrics and leathers hunted down from wholesalers, all in the spirit of environmental awareness.
I do my best to keep some constant colors available too — earthy tones and black will always remain at the heart of Eslo.

The wooden components are selected by my dad from the same types of wood he uses in his everyday work — he drills, carves, and turns them on the lathe, so some very unique and progressive pieces are also in the making.

From the leftover bits that remain after cutting the wooden handles and strips, we create our small, brand-inspired accessories and jewelry — in the spirit of upcycling.

AWARDS & TRADEMARKS – my brand has officially been registered

2025 marks another wonderful year in the story of ESLO.
As more and more people began to get “inspired” by the creative look of my brand, and with plenty of encouragement from my partner, family, and friends, ESLO has now been officially registered.
Not only the brand name, but also the sliding wooden handle and the unique shapes are now protected by trademark.

It has been an incredible journey — I never imagined I’d be able to write such applications myself, or that my creative and innovative work would be officially recognized.

Meanwhile, during the summer, I took part in the 2025 Hungarian Handicraft and Applied Arts Competition organized by AMKA, with my Luna collection, the Pix leather bag, and the beautiful Wooden Fan — and I brought home the very first award of my life.
So now, I am officially an AMKA 2025 Handicraft and Applied Arts Award-winning designer and creator.
It’s an amazing feeling — I received so much praise, encouragement, and recognition, including plenty of motivation to apply again, and even to step onto the international stage, where I’m told open arms are waiting. :)
